lucy
30 Saint Lucy of Syracuse Watercolor Paintings - Life of St Lucy Catholic Wall Art Bundle, Santa Lucia December 13

Tell the whole story of Saint Lucy of Syracuse, the young virgin martyr of early 4th-century Sicily whose name means light, scene by scene and in order, with this collection of 30 soft watercolor paintings. It begins with her childhood in Syracuse and her secret vow to Christ. Next come the arranged betrothal, her care for her sick mother Eutychia, the pilgrimage to the tomb of Saint Agatha in Catania and her mother's healing. Then she gives away her dowry, brings light to Christians in the catacombs, and is denounced before the governor Paschasius, where she stands immovable as a rock and untouched by the flames. The pack closes gently with her last Holy Communion, the crown of martyrdom and her burial, then turns to her legend and traditions: patroness of eyesight, the grain ships of 1646, cuccìa, the Swedish Lucia procession, lussekatter at dawn, the feast in Syracuse and a devotional portrait. The martyrdom is shown peacefully, without violence or gore. Lucy looks the same from painting to painting, with a white veil, a sky-blue tunic and a rose-pink mantle, and every scene is painted with tenderness in pastel colors on a cream paper background.

The 30 scenes

Childhood in Syracuse

Learning the Faith

The Secret Vow

The Arranged Betrothal

Caring for Her Sick Mother

Pilgrimage to Catania

At the Tomb of Saint Agatha

Vision of Saint Agatha

Mother Healed

Return to Syracuse

Giving Away Her Dowry

Light in the Catacombs

Caring for Widows and Orphans

The Angry Suitor

Denounced to the Governor

Before Paschasius

The Temple of the Holy Spirit

Immovable as a Rock

Untouched by the Flames

Last Holy Communion

Crown of Martyrdom

Laid to Rest

Patroness of Eyesight

The Grain Ships of 1646

Cuccìa for Saint Lucy's Day

The Lucia Procession

Lussekatter at Dawn

The Feast in Syracuse

Light in the Longest Night

Saint Lucy, Light of the World

These prints are perfect for the 13 December feast of Saint Lucy, Advent, a Santa Lucia or Luciadagen celebration, a prayer corner, nursery, girl's room, a Catholic school, catechesis, Sunday school, a parish hall, a Baptism, First Communion or Confirmation, a baby named Lucy, Lucia or Lucie, a gift for an eye doctor, or anyone who loves the true story behind the saint.

What you get

30 high-resolution JPG images

Delivered in 5 ZIP files (6 images per ZIP)

Size: 6496 x 8624 px, 3:4 ratio, 300 DPI

Prints sharply at 3:4 sizes up to 18x24 in (45x60 cm) and smaller: 6x8, 9x12, 12x16, 15x20 in

How it works

This is an instant digital download.
